Ok so im going to be cheap and buy the holt vang. Iv used the vang on my friends boat and i felt like the line was too thick. Should i buy a 3mm or 4mm for the cleated line? What is the best type of line for a vang?

I saw somewhere on laserforum that said if your plugs on your spars are black, then the spars are not class legal. Is that correct?
