My mast step is cracking from wear. But it isnt leaking yet. Should i buy a plate and use 3M? Then buy the wear disks?

If you would tell us where the cracks exactly are, we might be able to offer advice. Better even, include a picture.
Based on the limited info in your post, I doubt that a metal disk and/or wear disks will help.
BTW, what year is your boat? Newer Lasers have the metal disk 'built in'.

It is a 1976... It is cracking actually on the actual bottom of the tube. Its just from wear. But it also worrying me because its just started leaking :-/ ill try to get pictures sometime this week.

Do you have an inspection port within arms length of the mast step, if not it's time to add one so you can get a good look at the bottom of the tube,plywood base and the donut, it's also the only way you'll be able to make effective repairs - there are numerous threads here showing where to put it as well as actual repairs on the tube/base/donut
