Blade bag

Has anyone tried making a legit blade bag? That is the same design as let's say the intensity bag? Pictures? Help?

It's not difficult, if you have access to a commercial sewing machine to make something that looks, well homemade. You'll find getting decent foam (closed cell) is costly in small quantities, and using something like some cast off carpet for padding holds a lot of moisture when wet.

If you do, make sure you use a breathable fabric on the inside -

You can get a large duffle bag at the Army Navy store.

I cannot come up with enough savings with a home made bag to bypass the Intensity one. The material is expensive, unless you get it free, and my labor is pretty expensive too, even to me. It takes away from my sailing/fishing time ;)

I believe the foil bags from one [or more?] of our major manufacterers has a serious design fault. The head of the plate and rudder must be next to each other. If the rudder stock is allowed to be placed further down the plate it can cause warping of the plate depending on how its stored.
Has ayone else seen evidence of this ....or is it a well known problem??
