What were the other boats? Our Day Sailer is a planing hull around 98, with a Sunfish being 114ish.
I'm not sure what kind of boats the others were. Also, my service here in the boathouse is spotty and the photos intended for the above post didn't download. My apologies, I'll try to delete and clean them up.

When it comes to Portsmouth numbers, I read that a Laser was 91.3, a Banshee was 94.3, the Cyclone was like 96.1 and the Sunfish was 99.6. I also saw different numbers like you stated Signal. Hmmm, wondering what I saw

Creeping closer to sailing. Skipper's occupational therapy on the 4th included raising PHOENIX's sail twice. She also climbed into the cockpit and pulled on the sheet a few times, then got out, all by herself. The Granddaughter tailed the halyard as the sail went up and was watching with rapt attention to every detail. With her back injury Skipper has to avoid being bending over and pulling, so the Geezer Rig might go even higher. We'll target a light wind day on our shoal bay, for some ghosting to get her back on the water.

Slow and steady, Skipper, and don’t hesitate to let your first mate do the lifting. Glad the sailing has been worked into your PT!
Mine too, I guess. I’m heading over to view and hopefully purchase a 1980’s Sunfish and trailer. Pics and story to follow
P.S. Don’t tell Signal Charlie, he thinks I need to finish the pram!

One more to add to the fleet. I’ve always loved the blue deck and this ‘72 appears to be in great shape. Lightweight, no ports, new style rudder. Working De Persia bailer. Dagger and rudder are in rough shape with a couple shark bites but they can be restored, there are no cracks in the rudder.
The trailer is solid but bunks and brackets were rotted so the seller delivered it across town for me.
I was careful to check the spars on this one and they’re like new!
For $500 I think I got a good deal.

Nice looking boat, as you may know, we're partial to that color scheme :) We added double-double stripes to Skipper's 1965 Alcort and the 1984ish Riviera sail.

I had a blue-decked Sunfish once before and regret selling it. The sail was one I’ve not seen before or since.
Also probably the ugliest boat I’ve ever bought, but it just needed some love. See before and after pics.

I don’t think Sunfish sailing can get any better than this. I was out with our daughter recently just having fun. I moved the halyard from the racing position to have more room for us.
She sailed last Friday with my wife during our club’s Sunfish races and loved it. She also enjoys sailing Optis in the junior program, but I don’t think I will try sailing with her in an Opti. LOL
