Federation shuttlecraft NCC-1701, Enterprise, would be a good name. She had several shuttlecraft with grand names also, Columbus, Copernicus, Cervantes, Einstein and several Galileos.
We like one of the names on one of Voyager's shuttle, SACAGAWEA, which is what we call Skipper's kayak.
We named several of our boats after ships the Skipper's sailing Navy ancestor Lt. Ben Hunter sailed on, currently in the yard are ONKAHYE, WAVE, CYANE, PHOENIX and MADISON. He was also on CONSTITUTION and PORTSMOUTH. The nickname for CONSTITUTION is well known, Old Ironsides, the PORTSMOUTH was called Old Poverty because she didn't make much prize money.

Since being on the Sunfish Forum, I have had to differentiate between my Sunfish here in California and my Sunfish in Wisconsin. So I called the one in CA., "Califish" and the one in Wisconsin, "Oldfish." Well, last June, I bought the '69 Sunfish which I absolutely love. It's older than "Oldfish" which is a '77. I was calling the '69, "Greenfish" so my family knew which boat I was talking about. I don't really like any of these names. Well, "Oldfish" isn't technically mine, although I have done a lot of work on it and have a lot of history with it, going with my Dad in 1978 to buy it. I'm calling it "Redsail", and since I have the '69 in Wisconsin now and it is all mine, that will be my focus. So, my two Sunfish are my 2018 here and my '69 in Wisconsin. I am thinking about calling my 2018, "Badfish One" and my Wisconsin Sunfish, "Badfish Too"...

One day we'll have a boat named "Aint Skeered" but it will be much smaller than a Sunfish. The 8 foot Nutshell got named EXCUSE ME.

Reading all these clever boat names makes me realize how unimaginative I am in my naming:
- "Super" - my 1976 Super Sunfish
- "Sevens" - my 1977 race-legal fish
- "Mini"- my wife's delightful minifish
- "Ruby" - my 1971 (as seen in my avatar)
