. . . but to close the loop, it's a Harken 234. I'm now using it for something else.
In the past, I've used a bowline on an old canoe rig. It didn't slide well, but the traveler was a long piece of line. It would probably work well on the 'fish's ss cable. Snap hook is quicker if you're not a fast bowline-tier.
