I've lived in Florida mostly since 1963. Until 3 years ago, I hadn't been on the water but maybe a half dozen times. Something clicked a few years back. Sold all but one of my motorcycles and bought an ocean kayak. Then another ocean kayak. And then one more. Life was good!
Hopped on the internet looking for a trailer for the kayaks and found the perfect one. Aluminum and narrow for towing behind my vintage Jeep. It happened to have a Sunfish on top of it so I got them both as it seemed only the proper thing to do. After all, I didn't want to separate them right?
So last night I picked them up. The Sunfish is a 2002 Vanguard and to say it's clean is an understatement. Rolled her over to clean the cobwebs off and her hull is immaculate. Not a scratch on her. Sail is like brand new. I don't think it's ever been in the salty stuff.
So anyway, I'm confident that I'll have a few questions and once I become more knowledgeable, I hope to be able to give back what I can.
As of last evening, life has become just a little better for my dog and myself. Once I master the rigging, we're off!
Here's my kayak site, in the next few days it will have a few Sunfish pages. = ) AdvKayaker - Adventure Kayaker - Crystal River. Kayaking Florida's Nature Coast.
