Which is the better built?
For some time here in italy, it has been considered that englsh built boats were not the fastest ones.
Some used to import vanguard boats from usa, some australian ones from psa.
Now it's time to have a new boat and to sell my 187067...
I'm in touch with australian distributor and final price is pretty much higher than purchasing english built from italian distributor.
Do you folks think it's worth the difference? Do you have any info?

Purchase the ones all your mates use at the club level. The laser is all about your sailing ability and not your equipment.

I agree with Alan, what you should do regardless of where the boat is from is give it a good inspection,
new boats can have issues, its not a bad idea to check the mast rake, make sure the daggerboard and rudder line up, the weight (if possible), ect.

There will be import duties and administrative hassle to get a boat made in Australia or the USA into Italy.

And ILCA doesn't 'like' that sort of thing at all (2012 handbook, page 22).
