New Hack...

I went to a 2:1 since I found my Sunfish more tiring in heavy wind than my Hobie! I have a Harken mini block shackled to a spring clip that slides on the dyneema traveler. Also I use a clove hitch on my sheet behind the boom block (instead of tying it into the boom block eyelet), so the line runs free. It prevents the "double-X" too.
This business about having to use 40 year old parts to be class legal is just silly. Should be "equivalent" parts.

FAB!! Hurricane season is here in Florida, this will come in handy.
Looks like an order for a new main sheet twice as long I think…. if anyone else has already read this, please tell me how long the main sheet ended up being In the end.
Pretty sure I can scrounge up the block for the traveler…somewhere hmmm

One day, the fourty-year-old parts might run out or the sheave’s plastic will time out… Or the people hoarding them will direct them through their wills to the Sunfish Sailing Forum or release them to eBay before they die, I dunno’…
