how to fix old style rudder

Some parts are missing on the rudder of my 1969 Sunfish. I don't have the spring plate and the long screw that goes from the spring plate to the bottom plate. So the bottom to the rudder is loose.

Has somebody has modified an old style rudder and how have you done that? Do you have some pictures to show me?
 
Keep looking on eBay. There were two complete sets of original parts advertised last week. Do a search for Sunfish parts. It is much easier than trying to modify the old-style rudder.

Also, look in the For Sale section of this forum. Alan Glos has everything that you need for sale for a very good price. Much better than trying to make a rudder.
