Holt vs Harken

Right, so Im pretty sure I have found a good price. Only problem is it still has a basic system... so Im wondering if I do end up taking it is it worth spending the extra on the harken gear rather than the holt?

I've seen people with a harken kicker and holt down/outhaul?? I doubt i'll be doing any national or ranking events in the boat so im guessing the holt kit will do just fine.

Considering theres about €120 in the difference i wanted to ask someone's opinion!

I have Holt equipment on my boat and have no complaints.

I have the harken setup, but i really dont think that it will make much difference at all.

The previous thread on the topic. It seems the majority here and at major regattas prefer the Harken vang.

Im guessing the difference in cummingham and downhaul is nothing worth talkiong about then?

I had a holt kicker on my last boat never had any of the problems these guys talked about, 3 years of hard racing it did as well. I never liked the crossed lines though.

I rig my controls the same, regardless of block brand.

And yeah, the vang line crossing itself was pretty annoying at first, but using good line seems to solve any issue.
