coaming refinishing?

I have an old wite hull with burgandy stripes and burgandy coaming that has darkened. Can the coaming be wetsanded or brought back to its original color somehow?

Re: coaming refinshing?

You can wetsand the coaming with 360 then 600 grit wet-or-dry sandpaper with lots of water and see what happens. Finish with a low grit automotive rubbing compound and you may be able to bring back some shine to the gelcoat. If not, spray paint to the color of your choice.

Joel Hanneman, the production Manager at Laser Performance says that you can just paint it with any kind of paint. (He's the guy in the LP magazine ads too)

I wouldn't be too picky about the coaming. When I first got my 'fish and brought it back to life, I just bought a medium-quality spray paint. Still nothing worth complaining about :)
