I read in the class records (at http://www.laserinternational.org/rules/lrsail01.htm) that the (then) new mark6 sails would have " Modern straight batten pockets were also added to eliminate the problem of battens cutting through the batten pocket stitching".
when I look at most radials sails today, with the blue patches, the extra clew reinforncement etc that are the sign of a Mark 6 ( I think) I find that they have the same (old ?) style pockets than the standard sails (ie) with the "triangular" pocket. What gives ? did the class go back to the old style pockets ? were there any other changes since the introduction of the Mark VI ?
