The Gowrie Group offer a One Design Insurance program. The link to their website can be found on the USSailing website. When I last renewed I paid $200 for a policy with 1M third party liability and an agreed on value of the boat of $3000.
The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron lists the Laser Masters Worlds in their sailing calender. The dates coincide with the ones listed in the in the article in Sail World. The link is: /www.rqys.com.au/index.php/rqys-marine-sports-calendar/.
For the 2010 Masters Worlds in Hayling Island I flew from the US to London with my tiller and extension in a fishing rod holder. It went as checked baggage and counted as an extra bag. It cost $50.00 each way.
On my 2009 vintage boat the max dimension is 274mm. The min dimension is 254mm as the fairleads are not perpendicular to the centerline of the boat.
It is my understanding that you are not allowed to reposition the fairleads as this would be considered a modification to the builder supplied...
Does anyone know what is going on with the application for the 2011 Laser Masters. The website has been saying that it will be coming soon for some time now.
An easy way to get a tube to hold the tiller and extension is to purchase a fishing rod container. Fishing supply stores such as Bass Pro Shops carry a variety. US Airways has a policy regarding sports equipment. Other airlines are probably similar. They do not specifically mention sailboat...
Rob,
It was a memorable event. I have submitted my report to the D12 secretary. Full results are available on the Lake Lanier Sailing Club website.

Hi Gregson,
Before you spend your money on the Velocitek instrument check out the article on Sailing Anarchy www.sailinganarchy.com/index_page1.php ( you will need to scroll down to find it). It explains the limitations of the data when used for sailing up wind. As you probably already know...
I faced a similar situation and here is the solution I implemented: I have access to a floating slip and what I did was to build a ramp that is attached to the slip with a hinge in one end and is supported with a float in the other end. The arrangement is dimensioned in such a way so when I...
Rob,
Nothing sneaky about it, but I need to know what the rules are so I can act accordingly when the qualification criteria become know. I would also think that this is a question of interest to other US resident Laser sailors who hold non US citizenship.
What are the rules for which country's quota your entry is counted against if you live in one country but hold citizenship in another? I am a citizen of Denmark and a resident alien in the US.
