The brass fitting I purchased has a bushing with it---not sure which way to install the new fitting---bushing on cokcpit side or bottom of hull side. Also, which way is the proper way to install the actaul fitting----nut on cockpit side or bottom side? fox

I have a '78 laser--fix up boat. When I bought it I checked the deck and found one soft spot. Took the boat home and kept it outside -(covered up) and a few weeks later that one soft spot was now over 95% of the deck. The boat was stored indoors before I bought it and not used for years...

I am new to the laser (just bought a used boat) and need some advise on how to fix a soft spot on the deck. Obviously the foam core is degraded so the top facesheet is flexing. The area is midway between the mast and the edge of the deck and is approximately 4 inches by 8 inches. -dfox
