I have a 1978 laser and need some insight to the bailer. How is the connection made between the cockpit and the tube that goes from the cockpit connector ---through the boat to the underside? The other day the cockpit connector (bushing?) came off---I noticed that it has threads on it but when I tried to put it back in the threads would not grab anything. Do I need a basic bailer repair kit---or do I need something more to reconnect the bailer bushing to the tube?
