Spoke to Bill Crane today at LP, they have 200 Sunfish hulls in the warehouse and dealers have some as well. He said dealer orders or direct orders were welcome!

As for LP having spare parts, as of late last year they were getting their parts suppliers back up to speed, trying to meet spares requirement and keep all the new boats outfitted. New hull are being built in both China and the UK, Blue Ice is the color of choice now. Some of the prices for parts are surprisingly low, especially for the new sails. We have bought one and found it to be of nice quality, especially for $250 USD. https://www.laserperformance.us/parts/sails/sunfish-sail?lang=en_US
Ditto for Irwin Marine, who list themselves as Sunfish dealers—Laconia NH...as far as I know, Shoreline Sailboats in upstate New York is still a Sunfish dealer.
For newbies, LP is code for Laser Performance, a firm reputed to have sold Sunfish (sometimes).Spoke to Bill Crane today at LP, they have 200 Sunfish hulls in the warehouse and dealers have some as well. He said dealer orders or direct orders were welcome!
A friend just got a new boat from Colie Sails in NJ a few weeks back. It is UK built but it is white with blue trim. I saw the HIN and it is definitely UK built. I heard they stopped with the baby blue/ice blue boats so that both China and UK boats would have the same color scheme.
LP found someone else other than North to make sails in China which accounts for the price change. Racing sails may or may not still be North-made. Class wants them to be North, but LP does not want to use North any longer. I will be at the midwinters this weekend so will know more next week.
