When are you going to get a real boat?

People at my club ask me this when I sail my Laser! The answer is--when I'm too old to sail my Laser!

Any more come backs?

"Oh, I dunno, as soon as they start sailing 'Real boats' at the Olympics I'll look into it."
 
As soon as they start counting the numbers on their sails in the 100,000s then we will talk about it. Until then, don't mistake me for someone who cares....hehehe.
"Laser...Other boats are just practice"
"It ain't braggin' if you can really do it. I dare you to sail a Laser"
 
This sounds like good-natured ribbing from other dinghy sailors, but among the yacht crowd (basically anything with a fixed keel) there's a lasting impression that the Laser is a "kid's boat".
