I’m rehabbing a 2011 mod 3, and I am going to use a Minn Kota 40 for getting to and from the dock. I saw other posts with questions as to how best to secure the battery. I don’t know if all models have the exposed keel web in the cuddly, but mine does so I decided to use it in the design. I built a battery platform that sits on the bottom in the cuddy and clamps to the web. I’ve made quick connect cables out of jumper cable wire so the battery and extension cable will be in the cuddy while sailing, then I can pull them out and connect to the motor when I need to use the motor. I haven’t had it in the water yet, but it feels very secure and should stay put in anything other than a turtle. The battery is an AGM 35 Ah 1H size, so it is much lighter than the auto size. I’m very happy with the setup, so I thought I’d share the idea. Fair winds!
