My ridder downhaul is a pain in the arse, infact, its pointless in terms of 'ajusting' the rudder from beavertailed to the vertical position. i hav to push down the blade manualy. i got this....
"...1/8" Spectra is best for the downhaul, lead it up over the top front cross pin and out the back of the tiller slot, where it makes a 180 degree turn and comes forward along the tiller with a purchase loop before the cleat. Doing this keeps it from rubbing on the deck. ...."
from a site, and i dont quite understand it. i think i need a purchase (what, by the way, is legal and illegal), so could someone, or two, or three, run me through the process of rigging one?
much appreciated,

p.s. wouldnt it ware down the line alot where it 'makes the 180 degree turn'
