Pricing and Selling a used sunfish

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, wondering if you can give any advice. I have a '95 sunfish, with trailer, racing rigged and gently used. I'm trying to find out what comparable sunfish have been selling for, as I am unable to keep the boat any longer. (My brother has kicked me out of his barn, and I can't bear to let the thing sit outside for wisconsin winters and get ruined). Any information would be helpful.

Assuming the trailer is in good shaoe and the boat has a full race rig (racing sail, synthetic daggerboard and ratchet block etc.) I would ask about $2300. A new boat with a race rig is about $3800 and a trailer is about $400 so $2300 is about half what a new boat and trailer would go for. You are not in a hot Sunfish market. Here in the east, a package like yours might fetch a little more. There is also e-Bay but set a $2200 reserve. Comments from other Forum readers?

If your boat is dry (and around 130 lbs) do mention that.

You can get an idea of pricing by checking the For Sale section on this forum and see what others are asking.
