Starbrite Premium Marine Polish with PTEF. PTEF is the same as Teflon. Apply as directed and you will have a clean, shiny, fast bottom all season.

Conventional wisdom is waxing/polishing a hull isn't necessarily fast. Something about interrupting laminar flow of the water. Most rock star wet sand their hulls. However since you have an older boat and probably want to spruce up its appearance, the Starbrite PTEF sounds like good stuff. I'm going to get some for my boat.

By the way, I thought T*fl*n was one of those words we weren't supposed to use or risk getting sued for trademark infringement.

What? Next thing you will be telling me that Kevlar and Tyvek are trademarks too.

I just finished sailing the Nationals and met a hydrodynamicist. We discussed this issue during a postponement. He says there's no difference between wet sanded and aforementioned products. Hence, I prefer the shiny boat.
