Hello,
I am i just bought a laser with none of the racing parts. I don't have a huge budget I want to get the intensity sails parts that are not race legal, but my mother thinks that we should wait until we can get the race legal parts. I only plan on racing my laser in my club. The club is okay with using non race legal parts. I plan on racing my 420 not my laser in real races. Can someone give me their opinion.

Thanks, Vince

If your club is ok with intensity sails, why would you want to spend more if you don't have to?

If it was something more durable (rudder, daggerboard), you might want to think about spending more in case you change your mind, but for a sail I'd go for the intensity. In a few years if you change your mind it's probably time for a new sail anyway.

Thanks for your input on sails, but also what about the cunningham and outhaul racing upgrades. Anyway if I did decide to start racing in real races then, I could always charter a boat at the event.
