Paint over gelcoat

So after reading a couple of other threads I wanted to check to see if this is going to cause me problems later. When I repaired the bottom of my boat I did gelcoat over the repairs I did, but then I painted the rest of the boat. Is it going to be a problem that I did paint over the gelcoat repairs?

Paint over gelcoat is fine so long as you followed the paint's preparation instructions for painting fiberglass.

Gelcoat cannot be applied over paint !!

Thanks Wayne! I knew the gelcoat over paint was bad just wanted to make sure the opposite was ok. Appreciate it.
