Hello All,
My partner and I were given a 70's sunfish last fall. We used it a bit last season and a bit early this season. Due to the amount of fun we are having, we have decided to fully restore the boat. Therfore, I will be posting photos and updates periodically.

So far this is what I have done:
1. Cleaned the entire boat.
2. Cut three inspection port holes.
3. Removed all hardware, rotten backing blocks, and trim.
4. Patched all fiberglass areas in question along hull and keel.
5. Sanded entire hull for paint prep.

Next I will be:
6. Fiberglass repair on hull/deck seam.
7. Fill all trim rivet holes, deck screw holes.
8. Sand deck, prep for paint.
9. Wipe down with acetone.
10. Prime with Interlux primer
11. Sand
12. Prime with Interlux primer
13. Sand
14. Paint with Interlux Brightside
15. Paint with Interlux Brightside
16. Redrill all screw holes and replace hardware.
17. Reset trim and rivets.
18, Refinish all wood components.
19. Rig new sail
20. Rig all new lines
21. Drink a few beers, whew.

Any advice would be great.
Thanks,
Woodrow

With all that, I think that you may need to add more beer to the list periodically. :D

Another great place to look for help is the yahoo groups sunfish sailor site

Good luck, can't wait to see the photos.
