I currently have a laser with the hull number 165563 aswell as a recently purchased one 186065.
I am trying to find out some history of my 165563 laser as it has the markings of a VOLVO sticker on the hull.
All i have been able to find out is that the first world championships held with the VOLVO sticker on the boats was in South Africa in 1998. i have managed to find a person in South Africa who is using my sail number but he says that he brought the sale of the Guam sailing team.
any help would be appreciated as this boat is now in Dubai in the Middle East.
my sailing club also has a laser 165565 with the same VOLVO markings and i have a sail i purchased a few years ago with that same sail number but when looking at a previous forum on this site there is a link to some laser sailing video links in which there is a Czech laser team sailer sailing in a boat with the sail number 165565 but the hull is blue how ever my hull and the one at my club are white.
does anyone know what event these boats were used for or any info would help.
