This Sunfish was given to me along with the trailer. The guy that gave it to me wanted to make sure that I saw the damage underneath before I took it. It looks as if it was pulled up onto a rocky shoreline. A lot of damage to the hull.
It was stored indoors for many years and is dry inside. I weighed it on my bathroom scale and it weighed in at 121 pounds.
In these photos, I am in the process of hull repair and painting. I know that some purists will never paint the hull of a Sunfish but.....
I used two coats of Interlux Pre Kote primer from West Marine. My top coat is Seagloss White from West Marine. I have one more coat of Seagloss to add.
Thank you. I just finished with the second coat of Seagloss. Looking forward to flipping it upright and cleaning up the topside. No damage there, just needs a good cleaning and polishing.
Some new hardware is going to be added as well. I am planning to have a setup like Tag at the my2fish blog. Thanks Tag.
