Light rig set up

On the laser web site is says that in light wind conditions for the upwind leg the mainsheet should be set block to block with the traveller and the kicker set " two inches past block to block".Can anyone explain in simple language what " two inches past block to block" means ? If it means pull on two inches of kicker rope surely that will flatten the sail and depower the rig. Many thanksSteve 158498, last out of 22 boats at Broxbourne Open, UK

You should sail block to block in almost all winds except VERY light when you might want to release the main abit.
You want to have the sail quite flat in light winds though or else the wind will stall on the sail and you'll loose power.
