I'm going to visit my brother there, and I'm wondering if there is any Laser sailing on the peninsula on the east side of the Chesapeake? I checked Laser.org and found there are no fleets in the region.

According to the District 11 website, the following clubs are known to have Laser fleets...
Cambridge Yacht Club in Cambridge
Tred Avon Yacht Club in Oxford
Miles River Yacht Club in St. Michael's
All these towns are on the east side of the Chesapeake and are no more than an hour or so's drive from Salisbury, MD.
I sailed in the Oxford regatta at TAYC a couple of times in the past and can definitely recommend it. I see that this year it is on Aug 8 and 9, and there is a start for Lasers.

In addition to what Tillerman wrote, both the Corsica River Yacht Club (CRYC; http://www.cryc.org/) and the Rock Hall Yacht Club (http://rockhallyachtclub.org/) have Laser fleets on the (Maryland) Eastern Shore. In fact, the CRYC will have its Annual regatta next weekend, July 25/26. Low key and a lot of fun. Last year about 36 Lasers (a record?) took to the waters.
