Kittyhawk for Sunfish

Saw a Laser on a Kittyhawk trailer recently. Nice set up, supported by the bow and gunwales. What's different between Laser and Sunfish construction? Would a bow-gunwale support system work on a Sunfish?
 
The gunwhales on a Sunfish are not as thick as those on a Laser, so I don't know if it would work or not. I wonder if it would damage the Sunfish. Although if the supports were longer than on a Laser trailer it would spread the load more, which might compensate for the less-sturdy gunwhales. Perhaps you could ask KittyHawk if they have tested a Sunfish version.

I just jam mine in the back of my Belair, but my Sunfish is a 1964, so it is not in the best of shape anyway, and it does not have gunwhales, just metal edges of torture, which I consider to be my penance for sailing so much.
