Jib Sheets

I am going to replace the sheets on my jib and have a few questions. I just bought my boat last summer and the jib had two sheets attached, right and left. In the owners manual it just shows 1 sheet. Is it best to have two lines as opposed to one, and what knots are used to secure to the jib? I'm also hearing that 5/16" is probably the size sheet I need? If anyone has a picture it would be helpful.

Art - I prefer to use one sheet. I double the line and push the doubled end through the cringle, feed the ends of the sheets through the loop, then pull it all tight. No bulky knots!
 
Ed, thanks for the info. I'll be ordering my jib sheets today (I'm going to the one line, much easier).
