I'm trying to remove some old vinyl letters near the bow without success. I tried using a hair dryer to heat up the letters but that doesn't work. Any suggestions (Paint thinner, etc.?) ? Thanks very much.
Goo Gone. buy it at Home Depot or elsewhere. less chance of hurting gel coat with a solvent. you may have to aggressively peel off the vinyl, but the goo gone will remove the excess glue. use an old washcloth or terry towel.
Goo Gone is good but if that doesn't work, 3M Adhesive Remover is a bit harsher, but quite good. I've used it a lot on large private yachts on many types of paint and it's quite safe. Very effective and WAY less rubbing than goo gone too.
