Gudgeon Alignment

Can anyone outline the proper way to install/mark the placement of the rudder gudgeons so that they are in proper alignment with the hull. My new boat's lower gudgeon came from the factory set at an angle which is visibly incorrect.

Many Thanks

If you were a real stickler for accuracy, you'd set the boat up level and plumb, slide in the centreboard and rudder and sight through to match them up.

But since the laser board flops around so much, you could probably get away with just measuring from the trailing tip of the rudder, diagonally, to any same point on both sides of the outside edges of the transom. Take a happy medium between completely plumb, and measurably correct, and visibly correct. (set boat up level athwartships first of course...and the rudder must be held right angles to the transom too.)
