Gooseneck bolt

phish133

Sunfish sailor
While racing recently, the bronze bolt that holds the two pieces of the gooseneck together came off. If you can imagine a Sunfish with a square-rigged sail(bottom spar with half the sail on either side), thats what it looked like. Even more amzing was that the bolt fell onto the deck, and I was able to re-attach it after dropping the sail.
Question. Any suggestions an keeping the bolt securely attached to it's bolt?
Its hard to get access to it when it's on the spars.

Mine has never worked loose.
But to answer your question, use a product called Lock-Tite. Available at automotive stores and probalby hardware stores.

There is more than one type of Loc-Tite. Make sure to tell them what you are using it for so you get the right one. Also, there are other brands. Generically it is called thread sealer
