Re: Master's US Nationals and Master's PCC's

To Merrily and Bradley

The post you deleated was not a "hijack of the thread" or "uncivil"
A few of us have concerns about upcomming events and were looking for information.

I have been told that this forum is partially funded by Class membership dues , which some might think it owned by its members.

I would hope both of you remember that

We are happy when members feel a sense of ownership of the forum, because they will take care in what they say in this community of Laser sailors. However, this forum is owned by Bradley Green. I believe that you are incorrect about the funding.

Hi Stinky,

I'm afraid your information about the forum is incorrect. The forum receives NO funds and is not owned or controlled by the Laser Class. Please refer to item number four of the TLF Terms of Service:
TLF is committed to being and staying financially and administratively independent of any other Laser-related commercial or class organizations.
This website along with several others are a part of the for-profit Sailing Forums Network which I solely own.

Regards,

You can always contact me, or a member of the ExCom, or the Class Office via phone, email, etc., in a non-anonymous manner and we will be more than happy to attempt to address your concerns.

Contact information, as always, can be found at www.laser.org

If posts that are not grossly offensive are being censored, then I think you'll find very quickly that the forum members will go elsewhere.

Who is Stinky??

Other questions I might ask:
Where does she sail? Is she active in her local fleet? Does she contribute in some way to sailing other than just sailing her 4.7 rig?

Questions I shouldn't ask and to which I really don't care to read answers:

( You really thought I was going to go there didn't you??)

Is stinky really a girl or does he just play one on the internet?

The world may never know

All right, it's not allowed to flame the anonymous, either. Besides, do you guys have something against girls? You are bordering on sexism here.

Enough!

This is not meant as a flame post. I am attempting to give information. Of course the information may be inaccurate but, since everybody knows who wrote it, everybody can personally call me full of crap>>>

Actually, I played the "Stinky must be a girl" card because I believe it will bother Stinky a lot.
It is sort of a profile I have developed of anonymous posters to most any intenet forum.
I may or may not be correct about any of the following characterizations but I am pretty certain a few of the following are accurate with respect to each of the world's anonymous posters:
1. No high school sports letters.
2. Never hit a home run, scored a touchdown, blocked a shot, or hit an ace.
3. Chosen last in pick up games many many times
4. Never won a regatta
5. sat out either or both of junior and senior proms becuase there was no date available
6. Has been bitten enough times to fear dogs
7. Abuses animals
8. Afraid to dance or sing in public
9. lives with parents
10. Has not held any job for more than three years
11. Was fired for "no reason."
12. Cheats at anything whenever no one else can tell
13. has a large porn collection
14. Calls Quest or similar person chatt line
15. has at least three identities in various singles meeting groups.
16. Has never actually served on any volunteer committee.
17. Never been in charge of anything other than personal functions
18. Nice toys? Only if purchased by generous relatives
19. Never asked for advice by anyone over 6 years old
20. Hangs out at 7-11 and thinks check out person is "interested"

and>>>
Currently trying to justify that there is a good reason for every one of the above and denying they matter

I take offense to #13 on the list. I know many successful people that have large porn collections.
I can't believe you said that! This is the Laser Forum, and that is way off topic and inappropriate. It also doesn't seem to me to be something admirable to boast about.

I wasn't the first one to mention porn on this web site - I was a reply.

It seems like there is a double standard on this forum.

I think EVO's comment was simply misinterpreted. I saw it as just a continuation of Fred's joke. I'm don't think it was meant to represent Evo's own porn preferences or anyone he specifically knows.

Let's try to keep our discussions on topic.

Thanks for using The Laser Forum.

Is that true, EVO. Were you joking?

Classic!! I actually chuckled outloud. Sorry you got hammered for it.

Sorry also it is only number two on the funnies list for me this week.

A guy hammering Lasers generally on another forum said," The very best use for a Laser is as a speed bump." Which was number 3.

Number one was "If one of those flimsy pieces of trash is a speed bump for you, get a bigger Schwinn."

I am not trashing Lasers here. I just liked the humor.

Oh well. Back to sailing as it's windy and I gotta go now or use running lights.
