I’m planning to go to the mid-winters & masters. Does anyone know of any Sunfish sailing on the weekend before? Either the Melbourne or Tampa/Fort Myers area would be good.

4 March (the Sunday before Midwinters) is the mostly-monthly Sunifsh Races at Edison Sailing Center in Fort Myers (which is also the site for the Midwinters). Skippers meeting at noon; racing at 1:00pm. We could probably get a gang together on Saturday, too, if you're in the neighborhood.

Ft. Myers and Melbourne are on opposite coasts. 
Why not convene at Sebring's Lake Jackson? It's in the middle of the state and exactly 90 miles from either coast.
(More "gang" for the buck!).

Thanks for the info. In addition to sailing, we’re visiting friends/relatives in the Melbourne, Tampa, and Ft. Myers areas. Since some pre-regatta sailing is available, we’ll plan on leaving earlier (from Massachusetts).

According to the schedule for Melbourne Yacht Club there is small boat racing on Feb. 25.

Still, if you're planning to be near Fort Myers, give a shout and we'll try to get a gang together.
