I'm new here and looking for a somewhat simple daysailor for sailing the Tampa Bay area. I've windsurfed for years but the knee says no more
Down the street is a Designers Choice that looks to be in good condition and wondering if anyone may have sailed one or has thoughts on it.
The link is for info only and not the boat in question but I've listed pics of the actual boat. What I'll call the hardware all looks good and operational, not stuck, rusted, etc. https://sailboatdata.com/listing/howmar-designers-choice-15-sailboat
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Mike
I own one.. I and I love it.. quick (plans) and relatively stable.. this one here is known as the Shadow, you have a place to sit.
that is a good price

Hello, I am considering a used DC, 15 but I am "older" too. Is this boat hard to sail by a single sailor? I'm concerned about righting a capsized boat that has a 6 foot beam.
I know this may be a dead thread but I am hoping you all might be on still. I bought a DC in good shape with a trailer. I will be polishing and waxing it a bit as clear coat is a bit aged. I did buy new lines. Everything looks ok on it. I know they had reinforcing somewhere in transom area to mount a small outboard but cant see where. A few other little things I could use advise on too Thanks Joe
