Deck Fittings and Fastener Backing

I recently bought a 87' Laser fabricated in Ontario Canada and wondering what material (wood, fiberglass) is used for the backing of the deck fittings.

All deck fittings have plywood inserts under the fibreglass for the screws to bite into.
Do a TLF search on 'plywood' and you will get quite a few hits + solid advice on their positions and options for repair if necessary.
