When you are maintaining the dagger and Rudder does it matter that the white colour is not on the daggerboard or rudder. Does this slow you down.

OK, interesting question that I don't know the answer to either. Does it slow you down when all the paint is gone from the blades? It also raises the question for me, does it damage the blades when the paint is all worn off?

It doesn't matter if all paint is gone and it doesn't slow you down assuming the finish is as smooth as it was with the paint on it... blades will suffer no damage w/o paint

However, if you sail anywhere with weeds or debris in the water, it tends to be more visible when the weeds are caught on white blades.
