Compass recomendations - Any experience with Ritchie tacticals?

Having broken my ol' reliable Silva 103r (the dial broke loose of its spindle), I'm looking into the dramatically cheaper Ritchie tactical compasses (see link below), I'm not racing at a very high level but find that I have no way to judge shifts when I'm staring at an ocean horizon.

Has anyone used these? Is there a consensus on what is the best tactical compass for Lasers?

Many thanks!

You need to find out if you can mount that compass so as not to interfere with the control lines. Your message doesn't state whether your rigging is 'classical' or 'newfangled' (which isn't so new anymore).

I think most of us will agree that a compass is useful when racing in wide open water.
