Bridle Question

I have just been given an '82 Wellcraft Windstar. (a Sunfish clone) I have been able to find most of the parts and am learning a lot. I do have a question about the Bridle. Should I use the 3 loop metal cable bridle which matches the Sunfish bridle ? And, I prefer not to use rope to attach it to the bridle eyestraps. I was thinking about stainless steel s-hooks...any thoughts ?

Unless you own the three loop bridle, just use a straight piece of line with no loops. If ou own the three loop bridle, it is installed by removing the eyes straps from the deck, not by tying it or using s-hooks. Use silicone to waterproof the screws when reinstalling the eye Straps. BB

Good thought, the only prob is that my eyestraps (sorry I am still new to the lingo) I guess are called "fairleads" as well. They just have a hole through them and are not open at the bottom. I may order some new ones of the style you are referring to...

You can just use a piece of 1/4" rope. Run it through each eye strap and tie a knot in it. Works great.
