Breaking in a new sail

Ok so i know this is probably an over discussed subject but i just got a new sail and am curious as to what is the best thing to do to help break it in, like what type of conditions and any particular point of sail and even anything on land that you can do to the sail to help it performance.

I have a brand new sail that I plan to use this coming week for a big clinic and regatta. I don't have time to break it in before then. The wind is expected to be 8-12 knots. Will this be really bad for my sail?
