Blue Laser Parts in North America

Hi, I was just wondering if there was any reason why the last few years all the blocks and hardware on lasers were blue, including the corner of the sail. I also noticed that blue parts are more expensive than other colored parts. Any ideas?

If the corner of the sail is Blue then that indicates a Radial rig as opposed to a Full rig or a 4.7 rig.

As for the blocks who knows, maybe blue plastic is more expensive than black or grey?

from my understanding, the black blocks are the newer blocks and are more expensive

The supplier(s) for the parts in North America (at least) switched from black to blue a number of years ago (boom blocks, bow eye etc, mast/boom caps and plugs)
They were/are identical in every way to the black parts (and I've also seen grey and white depending on where/which builder (LPE or PSA))

The new Harken designed/produced blocks shown in flaserlover's post, AFAIK, aren't included with any of the three "versions" (Std, Race, XD), but only available as an upgrade..
