20 years not stepping foot in a boat and all I can say is OUCH!!!!!! Well not all I can say really. I went to a Masters regatta last weekend in Ottawa as my return to sailing; what a blast. While the boat handling and tatics weren't quite up to par the organization and competitors were fantastic.
Old Yeller led us around the course, to me he looks the same as he did in the 80's!
While my physical fitness was quite lacking, it was inspiring to see men and women from 35-73 years of age enjoying the timeless art of Laser sailing. Not to mention the fact that they are awesome sailors!!!!!!
I hope to find myself a boat this winter, get to the gym and try to inprove these old muscles (or get some), so that I can participate in next years Masters events....and who knows, maybe even give the young bucks a run for their money!
