Aluminum Trim....

I curous to find out if its possible to get new aluminum trim for the edge of my fish? The old is all dicolored chipping and the clear coat has deteriorated. Any info or tips?
 
take some aluminum cleaner that they use for pontoon boats and clean it then scrub it with steel wool. bright as new.
 
That could work. Its only $20.00 for five feet. It is pricey but not that bad. Ill try it though.

that cleaner is pretty good stuff, try putting it on your mast and spars will make them look good and remove and stains. wash it down good after you get through cleaning it.
 
You need 7 sections to do the entire edge. $140 Yikes !

Before you scrub with steel wool and abrasive polish consider this. If you remove the clear anodizing the aluminum will then impart graphite black marks on everything it rubs against, your skin, the sail, the lines. Go easy with that stuff.
