If you can afford both, that would provide you with the most launching options. I have the aluminum Trailex and I am happy with it. I can easily hand launch with it, at a normal boat ramp, have yet to try it at a beach. I have launched my boat with a dolly before and I think the Trailex works...

I'm replacing the old leaking plastic transom plug with the metal ronstan one and I am having no luck getting the rivets to grip the hull, any idea's. I've tried regular aluminum rivets and the stainless steel ones from Vanguard, they all seem to grip just the fitting and not the hull. Is it...

Did the Boom sleeve yesterday, it was easier than I thought it would be. Now I can install my new 15 to 1 vang....again thanks to all for the good info.

Thanks to everyone for the tips. This boat is a 76 and has no boom sleeve...I did end for end the top spar yesterday and it went really well and that really eases my concerns about spar failure, so again thanks to all for the help. Oh yeah, I must thank George at West Coast Sailing for shipping...
