    Identifying age of a Sunfish?

    I have one just like it. Have talked to many people. No definete answers. All I have been able to conclude it must be and early 60's.

    Cap Keeps coming off.

    The upper spar keeps coming loose from the cap that connects it to the lower spar. The holes on the spar have elongated and broken open. I am thinking of cutting the spar and drilling new holes. Has anyone done this before? Is there a better solution .

    Is a cracked rudder blade a common failure?

    If you don't want to mess with it, call Stu at Ellies Sailing Shop in 727-442-3281 in Clearwater, Florida. He will sell you a new one hand made by him, better than the original for about $75.00 + shipping. His blades are a masterpiece and it is almost a shame to use them.
