Looking to get into Laser Sailing!

Eric, Where will you be when you get back? I have a 1979 laser in great condition and I want to see her go to a person who will appreciate her. I'm in Iowa and if you are around the midwest I would be happy to have you take Ramona out for a whirl. Thanks for your service and good...

Good Price for a raceable Laser

I talked to a guy at the local sailing club about what my boat might be worth. It's a 1979 with a great sail, stiff hull, and good trailer. It's only been sailed maybe 8-10 years of its 27 year life(kept in a garage for the rest). He told me I should ask 800-1000 if I were to sell the boat...

Am I too big for my laser?

I am 6ft 220lbs and I find it impossible to find a comfortable way to sail her. The wind on my lake is finicky and dies a lot out of nowhwere and everytime it does, the boat tips over on top of me. When I feel the wind die I try to shift so I don't rollover backwards but that kills my back...

Recreational sailing with crew of two?

I sail with my fiance in our laser. I'm 220 and she's 115, when the wind is blowing 10-15 we go pretty fast. There is just not enough room to be comfortable for us. By the end of the day my back is real sore and legs are cramping. An hour or so is fine, but I am going to buy a hobie 16 for...

    good site for laser accessories

Just wanted to say that WestCoast sailing has a customer for life! I received my clew strap a day earlier than I needed it because of their eagerness to please the customer. I thought this level of service was dead these days. I look forward to dealing with George for all of my future laser...

    good site for laser accessories

I completely rigged my laser for the first time and noticed the clew tie down was missing. It looks like a nylon rope would do but I would like to get the laser strap instead just for ease. Does anyone else use the strap for the clew tie down? Are there any sites that I could find that and...

Starting to sail again, advise please

I am getting back into sailing after many years. I have a laser that was last sailed in 1995. Are there any parts I should automatically replace or pay special attention to? I cleaned it up and it looks great for it's age since it's been store inside for all of these years. Any tips would be...
