With all the rain and humidity this summer, my wooden centerboard has swollen to the point I can’t get it in (or out) of the Sunfish. Is there anything I can to make it easier to manage?
It's a warping problem in wood, known as "cup". (Search "cup" at the magnifier icon in the upper right corner).
Anyway, flip it over--add heat.
I've got the same situation that wasn't so bad last season. The "cup" got much worse when I'd left it on a wet dock in the hot sun. If I could remember which side was up, I'd flip it over and cross my fingers. Some heat would help, but Hurricane Henri is blocking the sun for the third day in a row.
Fortunately, with three other Sunfish (down from six ), I have spares this season.
