Sunfish year

My new to me Sunfish is 60's. I washed it last night and it looks better. It needs a little bit of gel coat work, which my neighbor Rick is going to help me with. There is nothing wrong with it but a couple of chips in the hull. I was worried about the mast step but when I shined a light down there, it looks great. It's aluminum and has a "cup" at the bottom. Can someone help me with the year?The Alcort plate says #66988. Here are photos...

You’ve got one sweet 1969! It was the year AMF bought Alcort. You’ve polished it up beautifully- and that De Persia bailer couldn’t be cleaner. What a find! Are you going with a white Intensity sail or are you looking for the original green/white? I’ve got an older green/white but it’s not nice enough for your boat.

Hi Breeze and thanks for your reply. So, a 1969? I am very happy to know this. This boat is really clean and everything seems to be in order. Some minor chip repair and buffing out the deck will make it great for sailing. I bought an Intensity practice race sail. All white with a window. It came today and I brought new sail clips with me. When I get it cleaned up and in the water, I'll post more photos. Thank you for helping me with the year. Your knowledge is much appreciated!
